Arriving at the fair

The Housing Fair area is located in the new suburb of Vuores roughly seven kilometres south from the centre of Tampere. The gate to the fair area is located along the main passage to the area, Vuoreksen puistokatu boulevard.

Note! There are no parking spaces in the vicinity of the fair area for visitors arriving by car. Parking is only allowed for exhibitors, motorists, representatives of the press, and those with disabled parking permits.

By car

Parking is organized for visitors arriving by car at the Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre (Ilmailunkatu 20). The place is signposted from the main roads.

The price of the parking ticket is €8/car purchased at the ticket booth and €10/car purchased at the parking area.

The price includes a 10-minute non-stop bus journey from the parking area to the gate of the fair area and back.  Busses operate from 9.30 to 18.30.

Caravans and camper vans may also be parked at the parking area, but not overnight.

If they wish, visitors may leave their car at the parking area and take bus number 5 to the centre of Tampere and return on bus number 1 or 7 to collect their car later.

By a local bus

From the centre

Visitors can get to the fair area from the centre of Tampere and back on bus number 5. The trip to the fair area is charged according to the normal rate but the return trip to the centre is free of charge if using the bus stop at the fair area.

In the centre of Tampere, the bus route passes via the railway station, Central Square, Koskipuisto park, and bus station. You can get on the bus number 5 at any stop along its normal route. During the housing fair, the bus runs at 15-minute intervals.

From Hervanta

The fair area can be accessed from Hervanta on bus number 5 as well, from where it operates at 30-minute intervals.

By train, bus, boat, or air

Tampere has excellent public transportation connections both by rail and bus. Railway and bus stations are both located right at the centre and are along the route of the bus number 5 that operates to and from the fair area.

During the housing fair, the city can also be accessed by boat from Hämeenlinna and Akaa in the south, Nokia in the west, and Virrat and Ruovesi in the north. Laukontori harbour on Lake Pyhäjärvi is a short walking distance from the Central Square, where the bus number 5 stops. Mustanlahti Harbour on Lake Näsijärvi is also near the centre of Tampere. Tampere-Pirkkala Airport is roughly 17 kilometres from the city centre, and 13 kilometres from Vuores. The fair area is reachable by bus from the centre of Tampere, or directly by taxi.

By bike or on foot

The route to the fair area is signposted for visitors arriving by bicycle or on foot from Lahdesjärvi ABC (Automiehenkatu 39) and Ruskontie road. The route passes along the Vuoreksen puistokatu boulevard. Bicycle parking is organized next to the gate to the fair area.

Motorcycles, press, and parking for the disabled

Free parking for the press and disabled and payable parking for motorcycles is next to the gate of the fair area. Parking areas are signposted from the main roads.

The parking fee is €8/motorcycle. The price includes equipment storage at the fair area.

Charter buses

Groups arriving on a bus can be let off at the gates. Charter buses can be parked on the spots reserved for exhibitors opposite to the fair area, which is signposted from the main roads.
