Solutions implemented at the housing fairs

  • The world's unrestricted access district was built in 1995, in Marjala, Joensuu. The housing fair area received, among others, the Helios award from the EU's programme for the disabled.
  • Finland's first government subsidised, community housing project, was implemented in Jyväskylä's Tuulenkylä Fair in 1985. The residents have in communal use; two saunas, a laundry room, fireplace room and a community house.
  • In Kuopio, in 1980, nine separate solar energy houses were completed. Their technical solutions ranged from liquid and air circulation solar collectors to heat pumps and various other techniques for het storage.
  • In the 2000 Tuusula Housing Fair the experimental house Villa 2000 was constructed with the premise of saving energy, ensuring the longevity of the framework solutions and adaptability of the interior spaces.
