Housing Fair in the marine town of Loviisa 7 July – 6 August 2023!

This year’s Housing Fair will take place in Loviisa, a charming small town of about 15 000 residents just an hour away from Helsinki.

The homes of the Housing Fair are built in a uniquely impressive location by the sea, right next to the city centre. Some of the plots have their own shore, and all the homes boast exceptionally stunning sea views.

The Housing Fair in Loviisa will showcase 18 detached houses, 2 semi-detached houses, several tiny homes and homes in blocks of flats and terraced houses. Among others, visitors can see a floating house built entirely on the sea. There are 25 sites to visit altogether.

The services of the city of Loviisa are close by, but the clean Finnish nature is even closer: the area, named Kuningattarenranta (“The Queen's Shore”), is flanked by a vast, protected oak forest, and the incredible marine nature is right on your doorstep.

The city of Loviisa has a long history, so a visit to the Housing Fair this year allows you to experience a memorable combination of the old and new. Visitors can walk along a floating bridge from the fairgrounds directly to the atmospheric old town dating back to the 16th century and to the centre of Loviisa.

How to get there

The parking area for visitors arriving at the Housing Fair by car is located at the address Johtajantie 2, Loviisa. The parking fee includes a shuttle bus service to and from the fairgrounds.

What is the Housing Fair?

Finland’s Housing Fair is a housing and construction event that is quite exceptional by international comparison. Whereas in a regular fair, customers visit one fair booth after another, the Housing Fair allows the audience to see and experience the latest innovations in housing in an authentic environment, that is, newly-built homes.

The Housing Fair is a big event, and every year, a brand-new residential area is built specifically with the event in mind. The project is a collaborative effort between Housing Fair Finland, Finnish cities and ordinary homeowners who are building a home. The result is a unique event where up to hundreds of thousands of people have the chance to visit new Finnish homes and find inspiration for their own housing projects.

The Housing Fair has already become a concept in Finland. The event has been organized since the year 1970. Over the decades, millions of customers have visited the Housing Fair. The Housing Fair areas retain their value and continue to interest people years and even decades after the actual event, because they always represent the highest standards and most advanced housing construction and urban planning of their time.
