It’s easy to get to Oulu by train, bus, plane or your own car.
The Hartaanselänranta Housing Fair area is located just a few kilometres from the city centre, along the shores of Hartaanselkä. Below you’ll find detailed instructions on how to reach the fairgrounds.
By Public Transport
Oulu is easily accessible by train and air. From Oulu Airport, you can take a local bus to the city centre for just €2.60 when paying by contactless or using the OSL mobile app. A cash fare is €5. If you arrive in Oulu on the same day as your Housing Fair visit, your Housing Fair ticket (bought online or at main entrance) also covers your local bus journey!
The Hartaanselänranta area is located just over two kilometres from the city centre. You can ride Oulu’s local buses to stops near the Housing Fair grounds free of charge by scanning your Housing Fair ticket on the bus. Several bus lines (4, 4A, 15, 20, 20B, 20K, 21) run from the city centre to stops near the main entrance: Kisakenttä P and Lipporanta P. When returning, use stops Lipporanta E or Kisakenttä E. Timetables are easily available via the OSL mobile app.
The main gate is located at Lipporannantie 6.
On Foot or by Bike
The fair area is easily accessible by foot or by bicycle via well-maintained pedestrian and cycle paths.
The entrance is at Lipporannantie 6, and the bicycle parking area is located nearby.
The most scenic route from the city centre follows pedestrian paths through Raatinsaari and Kuusisaari, then along the western shore of Tuirankangas. Along the way, you can enjoy the lush beauty of Oulu’s river delta and its vibrant local culture.
Arriving by Car
If you’re driving to Oulu, take Highway 4 from the south or Highway 8 from the north.
Private cars must be parked in one of the two designated fair parking areas: P1 or P2.
You can pay for parking at both areas using EasyPark, ParkMan, or Moovy apps. Day price for parking is 12 € + service fee on app. It is also possible to pay with card in the parking area, price 17 €.
Shuttle rides are included in the parking fee, and strollers and similar items are allowed on board.
Note: There is no visitor parking near the Housing Fair area. For traffic safety and smooth flow, all guests arriving by car must use the designated parking areas.
P1 – Primary Parking Area

Open: 1 hour before the gates open until 1 hour after they close: Mon–Wed & Fri–Sun: 9:00–19:00 Thursdays: 11:00–21:30
Free shuttle buses (low-floor) operate every 10 minutes between P1 and the fair main gate, with a stop at the remote site Satamatien palvelukortteli. The first shuttle departs 30 minutes before the gates open. The last shuttle returns from the fair entrance 30 minutes after closing.
Overnight parking is allowed for motorhomes and caravans at P1: • Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun: 19:00–9:00 • Wed: 19:00–11:00 • Thurs: 21:30–9:00 The area is monitored 24/7.
P2 – Additional Parking
Address: Korjaamontie 4
Open daily from 12:00–19:00, except Thursdays until 21:30.
Shuttles (low-floor buses) run every 10 minutes to the main entrance and back, with the last return 30 minutes after the fair closes.
By Taxi or with a Disabled Parking Permit
Accessible parking and taxi drop-off: Lipporannantie 6, right by the main entrance.

By Boat
Private boats may not dock directly at the Housing Fair area.
The Meritulli guest marina is located in a scenic spot in the Oulujoki river delta, right in the city centre next to the Market Square. The marina has 11 guest berths.
